Например, т.к. книга вышла в 1969, в год смерти Брайана Джонса (The Rolling Stones), то в ней об этом событии ещё не упоминалось, но в последующих изданиях окончание было изменено (упоминание о смерти Брайана Джонса, женитьбе Джаггера в 1971 в Сан Тропе…).
Книга «Awopbopaloobop Alopbamboom. The Golden Age of Rock», по сути дела, является одной из самых первых книг о рок-музыке.
Американский журналист и музыкальный критик Грейл Маркус (Greil Marcus) сказал о ней: «The first best book on rock’n’roll (самая первая и лучшая книга о рок-н-ролле)».
В 1985 году журнал «Ровесник» (№№ 4, 6, 8-11) напечатал отрывки из этой книги Ника Кона. Опубликованы они были под названием «Рок как есть». Перевод с английского А. Соколова.
